I’ve been getting cakes and baked goods at Happy Zoe for years. They have such an incredible selection for custom orders. Their cakes are always moist and delicious. So thrilled to see one of my favorite small businesses getting the attention they deserve.

Got a very special Chantilly Bitthday Cake for my gluten-free, dairy-free daughter’s birthday and it was soooooo perfect!!! The cake was moist and filling, and I scored even more “brownie points” when my daughter saw how beautifully decorated it was with the sweetest organic berries. When I called to place the order the owner was extremely gracious and amazingly accommodating with my special requests. HAPPY ZOE VEGAN BAKERY made a birthday, a very happy one Now, my daughter and I stop by for treats and when we’re in Greenpoint. The owner runs the bakery/café herself and everything is done with a touch of Such a wonderful place!!!

Happy Zoe, a charming bakery in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, has mastered the art of plant-based pastry while maintaining a flawless NYC Health Department A grade—no small feat. The pastries (raspberry cake, pistachio matcha cheesecake, chocolate cake, raw banana whip) are vibrant, indulgent, and memorable enough to convert skeptics. Michelin may not yet have a category for vegan bakeries, but Happy Zoe makes a strong case. Exceptional pastries, true hospitality, and a level of care that elevates every visit. I’ll be back—often whenever I’m in the city.

I got the blue spirulina whip and it was delicious! I went out of my way to go to Zoe’s because I saw it on TikTok. Though the whip was a little pricey, I thought it was worth it because they overfilled it so much that I had leftovers for the next day, so in my mind it evens out. I also appreciated that it wasn’t packed with sugar as smoothies these days often are. You could tell it was raw ingredients. It tasted amazing, looked amazing, and the service was nice. 5/5⭐

I’ve had a few different vegan cakes from other bakeries and Zoe’s by far has been me and my family’s favorite tasting cake. They’re delicious and beautifully detailed. This was for my niece’s 1st birthday. The kids and adults loved the cake. I just ordered another for my sister’s 40th birthday this Sunday. So good and worth it! (FYI: I added the name and happy birthday with the number 1 myself)

OMG the fruit whip is sooooooo good. Banana based. Delicious. Heathy. Filling. Clearly fresh made. Feels like you are sitting in a polish grandma’s living room. We shared the 16oz ($17) with 3 people and we were so full and delighted. Everything is vegan. Smoothies, fruit whip, cakes and sandwiches. Run by polish sisters. Kinda slow service but whatever, it’s made with love from scratch.

The fruit whip was SO GOOD. I know people said it was overrated but in my opinion it tasted exactly as good as it looked. It did come out to be $19 though… but I shared it with 3 friends so it was only about $5 each. I definitely recommend sharing the fruit whip but boy was it delicious.

When looking for a sweet treat that is not only decadent but is also on the healthier side, your options are truly limited in New York City… Enter Happy Zoe Vegan Bakery. This treasure has been around for years, the owners who are true vegans in spirit not only have mastered the craft of baked goods but also perfected the use of organic, dye free and gluten free alternatives that are a healthy option to sweet treats. I came in to order a vegan cake for my soon to be 8 year old and I didn’t even know what to order because everything looked just as good as it tasted. I ordered two cakes, 30 cake pops, two donuts , a chocolate cheesecake and two paninis that were made fresh to order with organic ingredients. The flavors- spot on. No heavy creams, the sugar was just perfect- not too sweet or too bland. I can’t rave enough about this place. It’s just a shame that I didn’t know about this bakery sooner. Will be back for their smoothies and frozen treats when the weather is warmer… a must try.
